This venture is the brainchild of "Streamside" Steve Capka and Ron "RP" Piccioli and was started in June of 2005. Both of them, over the years, have had backgrounds in sports and business promotions as well a keen interest and passion for the game of poker. Steve, who partnered with David Leiken to establish DOUBLE TEE PROMOTIONS in the early 70's, still one of the largest music/concert promotion companies in the western US, took his marketing savvy and founded Fishin' Northwest in the mid 70's and then help start Portland's first 24 hour per day all sports radio station, KFXX, in the early 90's. Capka teamed with Steve "The Dream" Weaver to host the "Dream & Stream" show one of Portland's, most highly rated sportstalk programs ever. RP, originally from the Boston area, started playing poker at 10 years old for baseball cards with classmates. Then, moving West, he worked in the California Thoroughbred Racing industry and was involved with promotions and advertising research companies like RSC, acting as both a facilitator and emcee, over the years. Back in the day, long before holdem was a household name, RP played poker professionally in the Reno/Tahoe area, playing in various limit ring games and a few tourmnaments, of which, at the time, there weren't many, but placing in the money and winning some ,on those few occasions. He still looks forward to, one of these days, sitting at the final table in the WSOP big one, and can be found playing at the tables in Reno/ Tahoe, and locally. He envisions "Free" Poker Clinics in the future..

They both have followed the recent arrival of "free" poker tournaments being offered to various establishments, and after examining the various companies providing this promotion, felt that with their background and focus, could do things a little differently to provide a positive and enjoyable experience to both the player/participant and establishment owner. They can do this with professional presentation, and advertising. They both look forward to building a business focusing on entertainment and having fun for all involved.
